GOLDEN SNAKE SKIN
Why snake skin?
Perhaps you can see the snake in it too. Perhaps not. For me, the surface began to resemble snake skin when I started hand-finishing each individual bead.
Originally, the beads were entirely gold. I worked on every single one by hand, using a fine diamond abrasive pad to gradually remove parts of the gold surface and soften the edges.
As I worked, the black underneath began to emerge.
The result is an irregular black-and-gold pattern that reminds me of the texture of snake skin. No two beads are exactly alike.
I call this signature finishing technique SNAKE'S SKIN.
And this necklace?
GOLDEN SNAKE SKIN.
A bold piece of jewellery for bold colours. Because sometimes there is no need to tone an outfit down. Sometimes it is far more interesting to emphasise its character even more.
